Take a look…what might your cat's tail be telling us?

At PetHealer, we believe that the best care for your cat starts with truly "understanding" them. And did you know that… one of the clearest languages a cat speaks isn't its meow, but its "tail"?
Observe your cat at home. What are each of their gestures telling you?
🐱 Tail tucked close to body → Scared or apprehensive Your cat feels unsafe. You should give him space to be quiet and gradually rebuild his confidence.
🐱 Tail held straight → Happy and trusting This is the best sign! He's saying, "I'm happy to see you." Your relationship is going very well.
🐱 Tail whipping → Anxious or stressed Stop bothering him immediately and give him space to relax. Respecting his "boundaries" is a true form of love.
🐱 Tail curled like a question mark (?) → Want to approach and get to know you A great time to build a bond. Approach gently. Let him/her make the first move.
🐱 Mid-level tail, moving slowly → Observing and assessing the situation. The cat hasn't decided whether to approach or retreat. Wait a moment, then gently invite them in.
🐱 Tail held high and wagging gently → Very affectionate, wants to be close to you. One of the clearest signs of affection — the cat is deeply attached to you.
🐱 Tail raised gently → Relaxed, in a good mood, ready for intimacy. The perfect time to play together. Or even a basic health check.
🐱 Tail tucked low to the back → Anxious, seeking reassurance Check for any physical or environmental abnormalities. Sometimes anxiety can stem from underlying pain.
🐱 Tail puffed up, body stiff → Very angry or feeling threatened Immediately back away and give your cat time to calm down. If this behavior occurs unusually frequently, consult a specialist.
